I don't know if anyone besides me has noticed this, but I've noticed that the character's ages between the seasons and episodes don't make since.
In season one, Derek and Casey were 15, Lizzie and Edwin were 10, and Marti was 5 or 6.
In season two, Derek and Casey were still 15, Lizzie was still 12, and Marti was still 5 or 6, but Edwin became 12. I don't know how it's possible to skip two years of age in a both (the distance between the first two seasons)
Also, they said in a season one episode that Derek failed first grade, so, in order to be in Casey's grade, he'd have to be 16, or be in 9th grade instead of 10th grade.
I've also noticed that Lizzie and Edwin are still in the same grade (as are Derek and Casey), but if Edwin really is 12 (instead of 10), shouldn't he at least be a grade ahead of her, if not two?

About the Cassey and Derek part, I think Derek is probably older because he skiped a grade right? and Cassey's year younger. no. cassey and derek are the same age. oh nevermind. this isn really confusing.

He failed a grade, not skipped a grade. Also, the Edwin part is what I'm the most confused about.

Yah, but if he failed the grade, he'd have to do the grade over again, while everyone else moved up the the 2nd grade, right? I know only some schools do that, so who knows? And, yah, i'm just gonna pretend like i understood half the stuff that is being said on here, lol. Uh, *cough* Yah, that makes sense.

also in the episode where casey was dating lizzies soccer coach, remember the boy said that the reason that derek was called triple D was because he took three girls to his senior prom.... but their not seniors? i'm confused about that

There's been discussion about the "senior prom" line on other boards, and one explanation is that while he wasn't a senior, his dates were. At some schools (like my old high school), freshman and sophomores could attend junior/senior prom if their dates were of age (junior/senior).

Apparently Edwin is now 13 as well, because I just got done watching the episode "Ivanwho?" and after Casey finds Edwin sleeping in her bed, she tells him he's "going to be a man without a 14th birthday" if he doesn't get out... which implies that at the moment, he would be 13, despite the fact that earlier this season, he just became a tween with Lizzie in "It's Our Party". Oh, how the LWD ages/timelines confuse me so.
